How to reach the School site

The ANIMMA Summer School site is at the University of Pisa – School of Engineering, in Largo Lucio Lazzarino – Pisa (Italy)

By train: “Pisa Centrale” railway station (https://www.trenitalia.com/en.html)
From the railway station you can reach the School (2 km away) by taking the bus.

By plane: International Airport “Galileo Galilei” Pisa (https://www.pisa-airport.com/en)
The airport is 4 km away from the School. From the airport you can reach the “Pisa Centrale” railway station by the PISA Mover service (40 m outside the airport Passenger Terminal on the left): https://pisa-mover.com/en/shuttle-service and follow the instructions By Train, or take the bus to city center as described in the section By Bus.

By car: Coming from Florence or Lucca, take the A11 Highways and exit at “Pisa Nord” (10 km away the school site); coming from Genoa or Livorno, take the A12 Highways A12 and exit at “Pisa Centro” (6 km away the school site); coming from Rome, take the A1 Highways until Florence and then take the A11 Highways and exit at “Pisa Nord” (10 km away the school site).

By Bus: Timetable and travel planner are available https://www.at-bus.it/en. Main suggestions are:

  • Bus from from the “Pisa Centrale” train station take the bus “LAM rossa – Park Pietrasantina” outside the station and stop at “Bonanno 1” (after 10 min).
  • Bus from the “Galileo Galilei” Airport to the city center (and University) is the E25.
