Conference Scope

The eighth of a series of conferences devoted to endorsing and promoting scientific and technical activities based on nuclear instrumentation and measurements.
Long tradition of research, development and teaching in solid state dosimetry and nuclear electronics.

Involvement in multiple international organizations and their conferences (ISSDO, NEUDOS).
Representation of a consortium of institutions eager to bring the conference to Italy for the first time.

Hands-on summer school with laboratory sessions co-organized between CAEN & Pisa University UNIPI.

ANIMMA2023 will be held exclusively IN PERSON mode. Unfortunately it is not possible to participate remotely.

Main Objective

ANIMMA conference brings together scientific, academic and industrial communities interested or actively involved in the R&D related to nuclear instrumentation and measurement methods. The program is focused

on instrumentation but emphasizes the latest developments in all measurement stages: signal detection, modelling, electronics treatment, signal acquisition and analysis, modeling interpretation and associated training / education activities.

ANIMMA 2023 will offer an outstanding opportunity for scientists, engineers and students to meet and to to address complex problems in nuclear instrumentation and measurement sciences and technologies especially nuclear security and safeguard ones as a response to the increase in terror attacks in recent years.

A very new proposition would be to have a Laboratory in nuclear measurement instrumentation application to explain a series of security systems to better address nuclear security applications by guarding against threat, theft, sabotage, unauthorized access, illegal transfer or other malicious acts involving high-level radioactive wastes and nuclear facilities.

Nuclear instrumentation and measurement methods in nuclear environments

are key aspects that contribute to the quality of scientific programmes in the fields of physics, energy, the fuel cycle and waste management. Furthermore, measurements relying on nuclear physics now play an important role in various fields of application such as biology, medicine and the environment.

The ANIMMA conference aims

at uniting, consolidating and organizing an international network of scientific researchers and experts from industry, research institutes, universities dealing with nuclear instrumentation and measurement methodology activities (R&D, Innovation and applications).

Location

“A journey through time. a journey into art, a journey into flavors… in other words, a journey towards Eden”

Lucca is a city on the Serchio river in Italy’s Tuscany region. It’s known for the well-preserved Renaissance walls encircling its historic city center and its cobblestone streets. Broad, tree-lined pathways along the tops of these massive 16th and 17th century ramparts are popular for strolling and cycling. Casa di Puccini, where the great opera composer was born, is now a house museum.
